The Summit

Well, I am back from the Summit. So much to think about... and so much to say about this incredible week of learning, thinking, encouragement, and instruction.

What you see here, is the courthouse in Dayton, TN that the Scopes Trial (evolution vs. creation in the public school system) was held at. It is still currently in operational running use. The gallery seating is still the original folding seats. We went on a field trip here and attend a lecture, and went in the underground museum in the basement. Summit was held at Bryan college, named after the prosecuting attorney for the case, a famous orator, Williams Bryan Jennings... I think that was his name... something like that. Anyway, he died a few days after the trial was concluded. His side won the case, but the other side unfortunately seemed to have won culturally.

Not quite sure what else to say yet, so I will post what I have now, and add more later... Do you have any questions? It seems that sometimes it is easier to answer questions about important events... at least it gives a good starting point.
